Florina Sirghi

Hello! My name is Florina and I’m from Romania. I moved to Delft almost four years ago to study Aerospace Engineering. I obtained my Bachelor’s degree last year and I’m now a first year MSc student, specialising in Control & Simulation. For the past two years, I was also a teaching assistant and mentor for four groups of first year students.

My interest in aviation and engineering developed during high school. After attending an International Open Day at the TU Delft Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, I knew that this was where I belong. I chose TU Delft for the high teaching quality, challenging study programme, available facilities, and for the international environment.

What I enjoy most about studying at TU Delft is that you can easily connect with fellow students and professors and you can develop yourself both on an academic and on a personal level. Here you can join a wide variety of student teams (Dreamteams), as well as study and sports associations. Furthermore, what I love about living in the Netherlands is that the people are very friendly and open-minded and Delft is the perfect place to study.

Before coming here, I had a lot of questions about the admission process and study life in general. I also found the first few weeks here challenging. As a student ambassador, I’m here to answer your questions about TU Delft and to help you navigate through the application process! If you have questions about the Aerospace Engineering programme or about study life at TU Delft in general, please do not hesitate to contact me!

I hope to see you soon in Delft! :)
