My name is Miki Segami, I am studying the MSc Environmental Engineering at the Civil Engineering and Geosciences Faculty. I also studied my bachelor in Environmental Engineering in Peru, and even though they may seem similar study programs, I decided to pursue a master at TU Delft because its well-thought-out study plan would allow me to specialize in water treatment technologies. In addition, the excellent professors who I got to know through the DelftX MOOCs available online, the high-tech innovation spirit, and the incredible international student environment convinced me that TU Delft was the right place to begin my first long-term adventure overseas.
The first step is to make the decision to come to TUDelft. It may sound easy but there is so many doubts that you will encounter in the way! How much is the study workload? How is living in the Netherlands? How is the daily student life? That is why the Student Ambassadors are here! Don’t hesitate to contact us (via email or Facebook), so we can help you with any doubt! Remember there is no such thing as a stupid question! This is the hardest step, but, believe me, once you have decided that TU Delft is for you, you won’t regret it!
Currently, I am finishing my first year as a master student, and I can say it’s been an incredible year in Delft! I have learned so much about water treatment, I have met amazing friends from all over the world, I have become more independent and I learnt a whole new sport for me (fencing!) Along to my studies, I joined the Latin American Student Association (LATITUD), the Delft Fencing Club and lastly, the Student Ambassadors. This is dutch student life! We not only have the opportunity to grow professionally but also to grow as an individual, share our culture with other students, expand our network and make life-lasting memories!
If you have any question about the Msc Environmental Engineering or my experiences in the Netherlands, just email me! I will gladly answer you: I wouldn’t be more happy to help!
