Bringing people togetherEdgard Andrés Zúñiga León - York found out about TU Delft completely by accident, via a video on YouTube about the Ocean’s Clean Up Project. When he arrived at TU Delft, he was the only Nicaraguan student enrolled at the university. In fact, he was the only Latin American student in his year at the MSc programme. But, despite that isolation, Zúñiga has found his way at the university, in part by founding LATITUD, the Latin American Student Association of Delft.
Success for TU Delft students and farmersWhen you think about the TU Delft DREAM Hall, you probably think of the solar car or the hyperloop. But it’s not all futuristic vehicles. There’s also a student team working on synthetic biology research to compete in the annual iGEM competition
Roofstructure Rotterdam: designing the fifth façade of the city centre in RotterdamMarit Haaksma graduated in Architecture after completing a Master’s project about a walking route across the roofs between Rotterdam’s Central Station, the Markthal and the Erasmus Bridge. She was subsequently interviewed as an example of a ‘visionary’ in the recently-published Het Rotterdamse Dakenboek (Rotterdam Roof of Books). You can read ‘her’ chapter here.
Getting a helping hand and giving backAlberto Gancedo didn’t set out to study in Delft, but eventually, that's exactly what he ended up doing. After completing an internship at TU Delft start-up Healthtech, the university supported him with his plan of studying microelectronics and working on a super-interesting project at the same time.
