Programme: Meet Wilfred 30 September 2021

The interactive evening programme includes brief updates from the universities followed by a short talk by UT alumnus Wilfred Booij, CTO at Forkbeard, a Norwegian startup company, aiming to become the indoor GPS by delivering the blue dot for smart devices, indoors. 

Per tradition, our gathering concludes with a virtual borrel (BYOB) where you and fellow alumni living in Denmarkt, Sweden, Norway and Finland will be mixed with each other to maximize interactions and stimulate conversations. Make sure to also bring some snacks and drinks for the borrel!

Wilfred Booij – Forkbeard

The world has been thoroughly mapped down to street view level, and everyone with a smartphone is an expert navigator. At least outside. Because inside buildings, we still navigate like our viking ancestors, through signs and (God forbid), asking for directions. Forkbeard aims to conquer the final frontier of navigation: The great indoors! To become the indoor GPS by delivering the blue dot for smart devices, indoors.

Wat is het DEAN alumni netwerk?

DEAN staat voor Dutch Engineers Alumni Network en is het Nederlandse netwerk voor ingenieurs van TU Delft, UTwente, Wageningen University & Research en TU Eindhoven. De eerste activiteiten begonnen in 2014 en inmiddels zijn er actieve groepen alumni in Australie, Frankrijk, Duitsland, Scandinavie, Spanje, Zwitserland en de Verenigde Staten. Gezamenlijk heeft 4TU meer dan 280.000 alumni, waarvan 60.000 in het buitenland.
