Reimbursement of relocation expenses
As an employee of TU Delft, you may (under certain conditions) be eligible for reimbursement of relocation expenses. Relocation expenses are the transport costs and travel expenses of the staff member and his/her family members on the day of the relocation. If the distance is greater than 75 kilometres and you relocate to a home less than 25 kilometres from TU Delft within two years of taking up employment with the university, you will receive a one-off reimbursement of relocation expenses.
The reimbursement of relocation expenses consists of:
- Transport costs. These are reasonable expenses incurred in transporting normal house contents, including any packing and unpacking expenses, with the exception of particularly valuable items such as art works that require special transport and excessive transport expenses.
- Travel expenses of the staff member and his/her family members on the day of the relocation, based on second-class public transport and/or, if air travel is necessary, the air travel expenses based on economy class.
How does it work?
If you think you qualify for the reimbursement of relocation expenses, please contact the secretary's office of your department/division to start up the appointment/registration via a digital authorisation process, HR Digiforms and enclose the invoice and three quotations.
For instance, an application for reimbursement should be accompanied by quotations from 3 certified removal companies. The maximum reimbursement of transport costs is the amount of the lowest quotation and takes place on the basis of an invoice. Applications must be submitted no later than 3 months after the relocation.
