Alessandro Porcarelli holds a BSc in Aerospace Engineering from PoliTO Polytechnic University of Turin, Italy (2019), and an MSc in Aerospace Engineering - Aeronautics & Aerodynamics from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden (2021). During his studies, Alessandro covered CFD- and external aerodynamics-focused tasks in several aeronautics-related student teams and as an intern in the automotive industry, and developed two years of experience in meshing as a part-time Application Engineer. His MSc thesis about the internal flow simulation in a hydrogen fuel cell-powered UAV raised Alessandro’s interest on the topic of hydrogen propulsion. After his collaboration as a student in research with the Energy department (DENERG) at PoliTO, Alessandro Porcarelli started his PhD project at TU Delft, division of Flight Performance and Propulsion (FPP) in October 2021. His topic focuses on the development of a LES model for ultra-lean and highly-strained hydrogen combustion for sustainable aero-engines technologies.
