Profiel

Dr. Avishreshth Singh is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Pavement Engineering section at Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands. Before joining Delft University of Technology, he worked as a Scientist at the Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India. He obtained doctoral degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati, India. He holds a Master of Engineering in Civil Infrastructure Engineering from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala, Punjab, India.

His research lies at the intersection of investigating pavement performance characteristics under the influence of varying climatic conditions and lifecycle assessment. He is working in different areas of pavement engineering including sustainability and circularity assessment of roadway infrastructure, porous pavement technology, advanced characterization of smart and resilient pavement materials, pavement design and construction materials, and pavement durability and impact of climate change on performance. For the last eight plus years, he has been involved in several multi-million dollar national and international studies that focused on fundamental characterization of cement concrete and asphalt pavement materials and circularity assessment of roadway technologies. He is also working in close collaboration with several researchers and practitioners from different parts of the world on various studies that aim at minimizing the lifecycle impacts of road construction and maintenance and assessment of in-situ thermal and hydrological performance of multilayered porous paver blocks to meet the goals of sustainable development and transitioning to net zero emissions.

He serves as an Editorial Board Member of the Resources Conservation and Recycling Advances Journal. He is also a young member of the RILEM society and a lifetime member of various prestigious groups such as Indian Roads Congress and Institution of Engineers India. He also serves as a co-chair of the "Task Group 3, Field Evaluation of Paving Composites Containing Advanced Paving Materials in the RILEM Technical Committee - Alternative Paving Materials - Design and Performance (APD)". He has authored / co-authored and contributed almost four dozen research papers in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences, eighteen technical reports, and five press articles till date. Further, he has also delivered multiple presentations and invited talks in different countries at topics revolving around pavement analysis and design, sustainable infrastructure development, and net zero emissions.
