Biografie

Wilbert Tabone is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie PhD candidate  working with the Human-Robot Interaction section in the Cognitive Robotics department of TU Delft under the supervision of Dr. Ir. Joost de Winter and Dr. Ir. Riender Happee. His work focuses on the interaction between automated vehicles and vulnerable road users through external Human-Machine Interfaces. Research interests include extended-reality technology, simulation testing, user experience design and artificial intelligence. The research forms part of the EU SHAPE-IT Project.  Wilbert graduated BSc. (Hons.) with first class honours in Creative Computing from Goldsmiths, University of London and later read for an MSc in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Malta, conducting his research at the Bernoulli Institute for Mathematics, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, University of Groningen in the Netherlands.  He is actively involved in the cultural, technology and education sectors and is also an activist for a number of Maltese and international NGOs, including the Commonwealth Youth Council.  Wilbert formed part of Malta.AI, the Malta National Task Force on Artificial Intelligence, tasked with  formulating Malta’s national strategy on AI.
