Dr. Zhengxuan Liu was appointed to the position of Marie Sklodowska Curie Research Fellow at Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment at TU Delft, on October 1 st, 2022. He started the Postdoctoral research works at TU Delft on June 18th, 2021. He was a joint PhD candidate between Hunan University and University of Lyon-ENTPE, and obtained his PhD degree in June, 2019. His research interests mainly focus on Zero Carbon Building and Community, Sustainable Urban Energy Transition, Smart Building and Intelligent Community, Diversified Renewable Energy Integration and Management, Digital Technology Application and AI, Health & Comfort for Indoor Environment, Thermal Management of Fuel Cells, and Socio-technical Systems.

Zhengxuan was the Assistant Dean of Institute for Sustainable Urbanization & Construction Innovation in Hunan University before coming to Delft. He is currently the Executive-Chair of Marie Curie Alumni Association China Chapter. In 2022, he was won with the "Marie Sklodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships" through an international competition (Approved funding of € 203,464.32 with a selected rate of about 13%), and honored as "Vebleo Fellow" which recognizes researchers or scientists who have prominence and leadership in the field of science, engineering, and technology.

Zhengxuan has published more than 80 research outputs, including over 40 SCI journal papers (30 of them as the first or corresponding author, one ESI Highly Cited Paper), one Elsevier book, 7 invited book chapters, and 35 patents. Zhengxuan has been responsible for 4 research projects as the person-in-charge and collaborated in 5 other research projects. He has been guiding 3 PhD and 15 Master students in their research.

Zhengxuan is the Associate Editors of two well-known SCI journals (i.e., Humanities & Social Sciences Communications (sub-journal of Nature), and Journal of Housing and the Built Environment), and the Editorial Board Member of 8 international journals (e.g., Buildings, Sustainable Horizons, etc.). He was the Guest Editor of 5 special issues for Sustainability, and Processes, etc. He was a reviewer of more than 20 SCI international journals with over 260 peer review experiences, e.g., Applied Energy, Energy Conversion and Management, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, Building and Environment, Journal of Cleaner Production, Energy and Buildings, etc.
