Honours Programme

Het Honours Programme is een extra programma voor excellente studenten die op zoek zijn naar een extra uitdaging. Studenten krijgen de kans zich te verdiepen en/of te verbreden in een onderwerp naar keuze.

Honours Programme BSc

Inhoud

Het Honours Programme Bachelor bestaat uit – minimaal – 20 EC. Hiervan wordt 5 EC van het programma ingevuld met interfacultaire vakken. Voor de overige – minimaal – 15 EC schrijven studenten een programmavoorstel dat moet worden goedgekeurd door de directeur van het Honours Programme.

Ingangseisen

Studenten kunnen zich aanmelden als zij voldoen aan de volgende toelatingseisen voor het Honours Programme Bachelor 3mE (OER – Artikel 10):

  • Het eerste BSc jaar moet nominaal behaald zijn, oftewel alle 60 studiepunten van de propedeuse zijn met een voldoende afgesloten voor 1 september. Als de student tijdens de aanmeldperiode nog wacht op uitslagen van herkansingen, dan is er in ieder geval de verwachting dat op de peildatum (1 september) alle vakken zijn gehaald.
  • Studenten moeten een gewogen gemiddelde van 7.5 of hoger hebben.

Aanmeldingsprocedure

Eerstejaars studenten kunnen zich aanmelden van 1 juni t/m 31 augustus als zij inderdaad aan de toelatingseisen voldoen.

  • Deze studenten worden uitgenodigd om een cijferlijst, inclusief gewogen gemiddelde, een curriculum vitae en een motivatiebrief in te sturen als zij denken in aanmerking te komen voor deelname.
  • De documenten kunnen als bijlage per mail (in losse PDF bestanden) worden verstuurd naar honourscommittee-3me@tudelft.nl
  • Op basis van het totaalpakket (toelatingsvoorwaarden, CV en een motivatiebrief) beslist de Honours Commissie of je toelaatbaar bent tot het Honours Programme Bachelor. 
  • Toetsing van de toelatingsvoorwaarden wordt gedaan op basis van de vastgestelde cijfers in Osiris met als peildatum 1 september.
  • De eerste meeting van het Honours Programme Bachelor is in oktober van het tweede collegejaar.

Uitstroomeisen

Alle onderdelen van zowel de reguliere bacheloropleiding als het Honours Programme Bachelor moeten nominaal – dus binnen 3 jaar – met een voldoende resultaat afgerond zijn om het Honours Certificaat te behalen.

Honours Programme MSc

Content 

The Honours Programme Master consists of – at least – 20 EC. 5 EC of the programme will be completed with a compulsory interfaculty courses. For the remaining 15 EC, students will have to write a proposal that has to be approved by the director of the Honours Programme.

Entry requirements

The admission requirements for the Honours Programme Master 3mE are:

  1. The first semester at least 25 EC obtained credits of which at least obtained all (required) courses from the exam programme (according to your approved form 2).
  2. A weighted average of at least 7.5

Registration

First-year Master’s students can register by sending their approved MSc Study programme (Form 2), their Osiris list of grades of semester 1 (including their weighted average), their motivation letter and their Curriculum Vitae (CV).

These documents can be sent via e-mail (attach as separate PDF files) to honourscommittee-3me@tudelft.nl.

After checking the admission requirements and registration documents, the HP board 3mE decides if the student is admissible to the Honours Programme Master 3mE. Review of the admission requirements is done based on the established figures in Osiris with the reference date, February 15th 2023.

The registration period for the Honours Programme Master 2022-2024 is from December 15th 2022 until February 15th 2023.

Exit requirements

For the successful completion of the Honours Programme, the student must at least meet the following requirements: 

  • The student must actively participate and be present at all obligatory HPM meetings.
  • All components of both the regular Master's program and the Honors Program Masters must be completed with a sufficient result in nominal terms – ie within 2 years – in order to obtain the Honours Certificate Masters.
