INFORMATION ABOUT THE DIFFERENT PROGRAMME ELEMENTS
Welcome & Introduction
Prof. Ir. Dick van Gameren - Dean
Dr. Aart Oxenaar - Director of Education
Ethics, diversity and intercultural communication
Dr. Roberto Rocco
Welcome to an international and diverse faculty! Women empowerment, globalization, European integration, the emergence of economies in the Global South, and many other cultural and economic trends mean that our faculty is more diverse than ever. In many ways, we are at the forefront of diversity. But in some aspects, we lag behind. Diversity is a big opportunity, but it also comes with a few challenges. It means we need to learn how to work, interact and appreciate people who are very different from us. Cultural and other differences mean that we have a diversity of worldviews, but it also means that people are sensitive to different values and expectations from education. We invite you to consider diversity as an asset, and to value the variety and richness of the human experience, also in education!
Pub Quiz and Treasure Hunt
Student Associations
In addition to the Introduction from the faculty, the master track student associations from the Faculty of Architecture and Built environment are hosting a voluntary program. The goal of this is to meet your fellow master students and learn more about the city of Delft and the Faculty building we call "Bouwkunde" or "BK".
The program consists of two events played in preassigned diverse groups. An online Pubquiz for the new students to get acquainted with Bouwkunde and for the ones starting Masters after Bachelors in BK, it offers a fun opportunity to check known facts. And a virtual Treasure Hunt to find hidden clues throughout Delft. So, join us on 28th August from 15.30 to 17.30 for an engaging round of Pubquiz followed by the Treasure Hunt on 29th August from 14.30 to 16.30.
This is an initiative from BouT, Geos, Polis and Stylos. We look forward to welcoming you all to BK City.
