2018-02-06 | 2018 Global Challenge Virtual Preliminary

The Virtual Preliminary celebrates the energy and innovation of university students and their important contributions to the global economy, while encouraging them to develop their entrepreneurial ideas by means of a business concept challenge we are hosting virtually.

The winning team will receive $5,000 in air travel reimbursement and free registration for up to five members to attend the Virginia Tech Global Entrepreneur Challenge finals where they will compete against other teams from around the world for a $30,000 grand prize. The winning Virtual Preliminary team will enjoy a 10-day event, which begins in Washington, D.C. (August 16-18, 2018) with other competing global teams, before we shift to Blacksburg, Virginia, USA for the Challenge (August 18-25, 2018). An agenda preview of the Challenge is available here. The Challenge finals in August is an incredible experience for your team to pitch their idea against 13 other globally competitive teams, receive coaching from regional technology companies, stay with host families in Blacksburg, and enjoy celebratory meals, socials, and activities to build and expand their global network.
