  • English: This something must consider when coming to a new country. Almost 90% of the Dutch speak fluent English and this becomes of great relevance when it comes to paperwork or medical appointments.

You will realise that bureaucracy is something they try to avoid as much as possible and plenty of paperwork can be done online or showing digital documents. You must schedule the agenda by making appointment (i.e.: GGD (clinic), Gemeente (to get BSN number) 
  • Nice people: Dutch people (especially Delft) are friendly. 
  • Welcoming to internationals: Openness and willingness of Dutch people to speak English when meeting foreigners. 
  • Prices: The prices for food on grocery stores are quite convenient. What is expensive here is going to restaurants.
