The Virtual Exchange Programme gives you the opportunity to take online, for-credit courses from international world-class institutions, while enrolled full-time in residence at your home university. Recognizing that ideas transcend nations and that international immersion is essential, this Programme enables you to join a global community of learning and to earn course credits through this exchange.
The VEP is an innovative educational programme running as a pilot for an initial three years (2017-2020); an extension or reformulation of the offering may take place after that period and will be communicated to partners and students at the relevant time.

EPFL is a bilingual university (French/English). At Bachelor's level, a majority of courses are taught in French, where at Master's level English becomes the most used language.
All courses have a MOODLE page (https://moodle.epfl.ch) where professors publish the syllabus and practicalities about the course. On top of that, EPFL MOOCs are available through EdX or Coursera.
EPFL courses organize only one exam session per year, no re-sits are available. Grades are between 1 and 6, with 6 representing highest and 1 the lowest possible grade. All grades 4 and higher are considered sufficient (a pass).
