1653 - Robotics Software Engineer - Very Urgent
This recently established research centre in Zuid-Holland is a place where technology is being developed for automated manufacturing of lightweight composite parts. The centre provides industrial-scale automation equipment that is accessible for research, demonstration and testing of technology prior to upscaling. They are cooperating with companies that are into aircraft, wind turbine blades, spacecraft and maritime applications.
Their facility is divided in an area for technology showcases and projects that are of a more confidential nature.
In this facility, manufacturing companies can build up automated manufacturing solutions from scratch supported by the centre, or use the available robots and machines to proof automation concepts.
You will be working with your team, on all aspects of smart advanced manufacturing ranging from developing, implementing and testing software in both C++ and Python. To ensure maximum interoperability, ROS is used as a middleware. Your desk is right next to the manufacturing robots so you will see your work take shape.
Activities can vary from developing a low level sensor driver to developing novel path planning approaches for a specific manufacturing process.
Other tasks can include:
- Evaluating existing components.
- Testing on actual industrial hardware and developing your own software components.
- Guiding colleagues and clients in their software projects.

Are you also ready to make this happen?
- TU, MSc or PhD discipline Computer Science, Embedded Software, Mechanical Engineering, or similar
- Good programming skills in both C++ and Python
- Good communication skills
- Affinity with the development of software for industrial robots.
- Experience with ROS is an advantage
