Emerging Technology-Based Innovation & Entrepreneurship

The specialisation Emerging Technology-Based Innovation & Entrepreneurship aims at students that want to gain in-depth knowledge of how emerging and transformational technologies contribute to societal challenges and provide opportunities for innovation and entrepreneurship. New emerging technologies can transform industries and have economic, social and environmental impact. Examples of emerging technologies include smart grids, 5G, wireless technology, AI, and cloud computing.

Specialisation Supply Chain Management

The Supply Chain Management specialisation provides an integrated framework for understanding the product and information flows in and between companies that are part of global demand/supply chains in a rapid changing world.

Artificial intelligence Specialisation

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a technique by which computers perform multiple tasks, including cognitive tasks, which in the past have only been performed by humans. For AI to support humanity, human values should be central in the development of AI systems. As such, from the “comprehensive engineering” perspective, TPM intends to incorporate AI as an inseparable element of the society in research and in education. This implies “studying AI in society” as well as “using AI to understand society”.

Specialisation Economics and Finance

The specialisation Economics and Finance introduces the student to the theories, principles, and methods of financial management at the firm, national and international level. The course investigates how financial markets work (in interaction with the real economy), why they often do not work as well as we would like, and how the performance of the financial system can be improved by regulation and policy

Advanced Modelling Gaming and Design Specialisation

This specialisation provides students with state of the art knowledge in modelling, gaming and design. Advanced modelling and gaming are ways to understand, manage and design complex systems.

Specialisation ICT Design and Management

ICT is an integral part of any organization in today’s economy. But what really makes the difference is how capable an organization is to design and manage ICT solutions. During this specialization you will be provided with knowledge and capabilities to design and manage ICT artefacts in organizations.

Specialisation Cyber Security

Our society has become very dependent on IT. We communicate digitally, meet friends in cyberspace, perform e-transactions, control critical infrastructures using IT, act as e-activists, and might even be involved in cyber warfare. During this elective you n develop an understanding of cyber security challenges from the business and governance perspectives.

Specialisation Water and Delta Systems

Water is essential for societies and eco-systems. Globally, water systems are under pressure from ongoing socio-economic development and climate change. Water-related issues - like flooding and drought, access to drinking water and sanitation, sea-level rise and land subsidence, and ecosystem and environmental degradation - are high on political agendas and in the actions of international organizations and NGOs.
