MSc. T.J. (Thijmen) Wiltink

Profile

Thijmen obtained a double master’s degree Environmental and Biobased

Biotechnology and Biosystems Engineering at the Wageningen University in the Netherlands. During these studies, he focussed primarily on the design of novel cropping systems and waste valorisation processes connected to agriculture always looking from a high system perspective. Currently, his research has a focus on industrial systems and CO2 utilisation instead of agricultural systems integrated with biorefineries and bioprocesses.

Research

His research is part of the NWO project "Addressing the multi-scale challenge of electrochemical conversion implementation", whose principal investigator is Dr. Mar Pérez-Fortes. Furthermore, the project has a close collaboration with Prof. Andrea Ramirez, the colleagues from her group and the e-Refinery programme.

The focus of his research is on value networks and the sustainable supply chain design (considering environmental, economic and social indicators) of CO2 electrochemical conversion technologies at a high system level.
