N. (Ni) Wang
Profile
Ni Wang is a PhD candidate in the Energy & Industry group. He holds a MSc degree in Sustainable Energy Technology from University of Twente, the Netherlands, and a BSc degree (with honors) in Energy Engineering from Zhejiang University, China. After the studies, he worked as an Application Engineer in the Netherlands before joining TU Delft.
Research
His research focuses on the investment of renewable energy for the decarbonization of future energy systems. In this PhD project, alongside the energy investment, the focus is on the following aspects: the social acceptance of wind energy, multiple stakeholder decision-making with conflicting interests, negotiation algorithms between the investment parties.
His research interest lies in the intersection between the planning and the operation of the energy system and the relevant social aspects, in order to provide policy recommendations. He is skilled in data-driven quantitative methods such as optimization, simulation and game theory. In addition, he is currently developing an open-source socio-technical energy system planning model.
