Drs. A.E. (Annebeth) Erdbrink
Annebeth Erdbrink is a PhD candidate at the Policy Analysis section of the Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management. She holds a master’s degree in both Social Psychology (2008) and Information Studies (track Game Studies, 2016) at the University of Amsterdam.
Her area of interest lies in the application of games to raise awareness concerning sustainable issues; specifically, to what extent these games can contribute to increase the responsibility regarding these issues.
Annebeth’s PhD research ‘Game Design for Sustainable Societies’ (funded by NWO) focuses on the improvement of persuasive game design. It involves case studies with games that aim to increase the responsibility of players towards safe handling of information, consuming less animal products and to better listen to others in society.
Through artistic, analytical and design oriented research the GAMPSISS project aims to:
- explore listening cultures in the context of classical music performances
- identify their relevance on a personal and societal level
- determine how current listening culture can be modified and
- develop and evaluate playful, music performances that foster an active listening culture that promotes smart, inclusive and sustainable societies.
