Ir. T.E. (Tristan) de Wildt
Profile
Tristan is Postdoc researcher at the Ethics/Philosophy section of the Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management of Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in the Netherlands. After having completed the System Engineering, Policy Analysis and Management program in Delft, he worked as a consultant within the CWE Flow-Based Market Coupling project. Tristan did his PhD on value conflicts, moral acceptability and social acceptance of energy systems.
Research
Tristan is part of the ERC funded project 'Design for Changing Values'. His work aims to address value conflicts embedded in energy systems in support of social acceptance. While a large share of the literature addressing social acceptance originates from behavioural sciences and social psychology, Tristan uses ethics of technology as a starting point. This is deemed more effective to anticipate social acceptance issues caused by energy systems. To fulfil this research goal, Tristan integrates ethics of technology with complexity sciences and text mining approaches. Methods used include agent-based modelling, exploratory modelling and analysis, and probabilistic topic models.
