Considering peer assessment? New LDE-CEL paper on desiging peer assesment published.

Always wanted to use Peer Assessment in the form of Peer Evaluation, Peer Review or Peer Grading in your courses? Look no further! A team from the Leiden-Delft-Erasmus universities Center for Education and Learning (LDE-CEL) has just published their review paper entitled: “The Use of Digital Peer Assessment in Higher Education – an Umbrella Review of Literature” in IEEE Access (Open Access of course). In the paper, authors Gitte van Helden, Vivian van der Werf, Gillian Saunders-Smits, and Marcus Specht provide a comprehensive literature overview of design choices and their consequences for any lecturer who wishes to implement digital Peer Assessment in their courses, the type of tooling available and the possible effects of these choices on the learning outcomes as well as potential pitfalls and challenges when implementing Peer Assessment.

The team has also converted the paper into an interactive workshop for lecturers allowing them to design their own Peer Assessment in the scope of 90 minutes. The workshop has already been successfully held at the SEFI conference in Barcelona in September and during the LDE-CEL Annual Event last December.

You can read the paper here.

If you are interested in doing the workshop with your faculty, department, or course team, please contact the team of LDE-CEL via info@educationandlearning.nl
