TU Delft streeft als prestigieuze universiteit ernaar impact te hebben op een betere samenleving door middel van onderzoek en onderwijs. Maar hoe kunnen we op een positieve manier invloed uitoefenen op de besluitvorming over onze samenleving? Het strategisch programma TU Delft | Den Haag en onze nieuwe locatie dienen dit doel perfect. Via onze initiatieven omarmen we de Sustainable Development Goals van de Verenigde Naties (VN SDG).
Het doel van onze initiatieven is om op een effectieve manier state-of-the-art techniek te betrekken bij politiek en besluitvormingsprocessen. We streven er uiteindelijk naar om een bepaald type ingenieurs op te leiden, die niet alleen systeemdenken beheersen, maar ook interdisciplinair zijn. Ingenieurs die beleidsbewust zijn en gericht zijn op het toepassen van hun onderzoek en technisch advies voor een betere samenleving.

Onze campus in Den Haag zal een bloeiende en inspirerende plek zijn voor onze studenten, onderzoekers en uitvoerenden om elkaar te ontmoeten en kennis en expertise uit te wisselen. Onze master Engineering & Policy Analysis (EPA) dient als een best practice die al heeft geleid tot veel inspirerende samenwerkingen met onze partners in Den Haag. Op basis hiervan heeft de TU Delft zich ten doel gesteld om een universiteitsbreed perspectief te ontwikkelen op strategische samenwerking met nationale en internationale aanwezigheid in Den Haag.

Media Outreach Training for Young Researchers in the field of Climate and Energy 17 april 2024 10:00 t/m 17:00 | Zet in mijn agenda In 2022, Climate Action Hub of TU Delft | The Hague and KlimaatHelpdesk have jointly hosted the first Media Training in The Hague. Together with more than 30 PhD’s and post-docs, we have discussed challenges of communicating the rapidly evolving insights of climate research to society. Participants have been intensively trained in how to generate public interest for their research and how to present themself in the media with confidence. Climate Action Hub of TU Delft | The Hague and KlimaatHelpdesk will continue with the media outreach training for PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers in April 2024. The aim is to equip early career climate researchers with communication skills and tools to prepare for presence with media independently in their career future. The basic training focuses on a general introduction to science communication and media. This training is targeted towards early career researchers with no prior experience in science communication and media. Wednesday 17 April 2024 Basic Training: Introduction to science communication and media In this training, you will gain confidence in dealing with the media and understanding of the role of social media in science communication. You will engage and build your skills through hands-on case studies. The training will be conducted in English. Tentative time: 10 -17 hrs Symbolic fee: 50 euro per candidate Maximum capacity: 25 participants Location: TU Delft | The Hague, Bezuidenhoutseweg 63, Den Haag Register now We invite Dutch PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers affiliated with a university or research institute to participate, regardless of prior outreach experiences. It is an independent communications platform that connects the public with scientists and experts.Visitors receive a peer-reviewed answer to their question from a network of affiliated scholars and experts. KlimaatHelpdesk archives the question and corresponding answer on the website and thereby provides an expanding, easily accessible source of reliable and evidence-based information. Since the official launch in November 2020, over 250 enthusiastic experts have answered and/or reviewed over 130 questions in various disciplines: from meteorology, oceanography and biology to psychology, law, and philosoph. www.klimaathelpdesk.org
