Pratik Gholkar
Pratik did his bachelors and masters degrees in biotechnology and biochemical engineering, respectively. During his bachelors, he worked on the extraction and purification of antimicrobial peptides. During his masters, he worked on developing a reaction kinetic model for hydrothermal liquefaction of microalgae to produce renewable bio-oil. Following his passion for research, he joined a doctoral program at IIT Bombay and Monash University, Australia. His doctoral research was focused on nanomaterial synthesis and catalytic process development for renewable hydrogen production from microalgae. After completing his PhD, he was working at the BPCL-Corporate Research and Development Centre as a postdoctoral researcher in the department of catalysis and process development from March 2021 to April 2022. At BPCL, his work was focused on synthesizing nanomaterials for catalytic applications for renewable fuel production. He joined our group as a postdoctoral researcher in June 2022. Currently, his work his work encompasses understanding of catalytic processes using operando spectroscopy under dynamic conditions. To date, he has authored 7 patents and a few journal articles for 4 different technologies.
