Jintao Kong

Jintao is currently doing interdisciplinary research involving ultrafast spectroscopy, plasmonic nanomaterials and catalysis. He will use plasmonic nanoparticles to ignite the catalytic reactions and then capture the reaction intermediates using ultrafast spectroscopy, with the aim of observing catalytic processes with unprecedented picosecond temporal resolution. Jintao obtained his PhD from Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He joined Monique’s group in 2021 and before that he worked in the field of luminescence, putting a special emphasis on photon upconversion and persistent luminescence.
