Welcome to the website of the EngD Programme "Process and Equipment Design"!

The Process and Equipment Design programme is an advanced level traineeship that trains and educates MSc-graduates to become certified designers. This traineeship is full time and takes two years to complete. After careful selection MSc-graduates are hired as EngD trainees, becoming employees of the university, and receiving a salary.

Succesful trainees are awarded the diploma "Engineering Doctorate" (EngD) and may add the abbreviation EngD to their professional title. The EngD diploma's are registered by:

  • The Royal Netherlands Society of Engineers (KIVI, Het Koninklijk Instituut van Ingenieurs) The Netherlands

The programme was developed in 1990 by TU Delft in close co-operation with the Research School Process Technology (OSPT) and the Dutch (chemical) industry. Since then over 220 graduates have successfully completed the programme, and each year about 10 to 12 EngD trainees are normally enrolled.
