We are always looking for new collaboration partners, academic and otherwise. We aim at long term partnerships, building international networks and consortia for innovation, design, research, education and engineering. We are open to more project-based collaborations as well. Innovation of National Safety & Security landscape

In 2018, the exploration started for a knowledge alliance for innovation of national security and safety technology. Intended partners are the Faculties of Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics & Computer Science, and Technology, Policy and Management, together with TNO under the long-term mandate of the National Police and the Netherlands Forensics Institute. Aim is to make the quite heterogenic and scattered (expertise of the) Dutch national security ecosystem stronger and more cohesive to enhance innovation.

Safe by Design

The TU Delft Safety & Security Institute has entered a partnership with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management in the field of "Safe by Design". Safe by Design is a method that encourages including safety in the design from the very outset of the development of any product or process. The starting point here is that safety to a large extent is determined during the initial development phase. In doing so, safety risks can be reduced or prevented, making safety measures or adjustments at a later stage less likely or even unnecessary. The same rationale also applies to proactively including security considerations. Our institute is developing Safe by Design in a number of technical domains.
