SUM Lab Report (2023)

As the year 2023 comes to its end, we take a moment to reflect on all the ups and downs we have endured in the SUM lab in the past year. Research is indeed a nonlinear path with its local minimums and local maximums. But what is important is that each member of the SUM lab strives to ensure that our collective learning curves are monotonically increasing functions in the long term. That is what makes research exciting (due to its uncertainty) and rewarding (due to learning). We also believe that with sharing knowledge we can hopefully sustain its positive impact for a greater community. The following short document presents a summary of our research themes, projects, associated outcomes in 2023, that we hope it could further extend our collaborations and collective efforts to tackle global issues in 2024 and beyond.
