'Entree' design vision for user-centred e-ticketing in 2019
'Entree' design vision
Based on the knowledge gained from the analysis phase and from developing partial solutions (on visualising traveller status, the open payment border and improving service provision), an integrated design vision was generated for user-centred electronic ticketing in Dutch public transport in 2019.
Integrated means that the vision took into account:
- Electronic ticketing for the total travel domain, not (just) at individual transport operators;
- All phases of use, from purchase to replacement;
- Which technology and business conditions are required to make this vision reality.
The video below (in Dutch, with subtitles) illustrates the proposed use of the OV-chipkaart in 2019.
A more elaborate explanation of the vision is documented in this report, which also discusses the conditions for introduction and the possibilities of phased introduction.
