Making music together: the most fun there is. In a band, you are always surrounded by other musical people, you share the same musical passion, and you can learn from each other. And of course, besides having fun, it also brings challenges. It is the art of discovering how each band member can put their own twist on the music. Another element is how to give a good performance in front of an audience. Good cooperation and communication are essential. And, of course, lots of rehearsals!
Interested in making music together with fellow students? D.S.J.V. Groover offers you the opportunity to play in a band. In collaboration with X, they provide association training and association activities.
D.S.J.V. Groover
D.S.J.V. Groover is Delft's student jazz association. Close to 400 members share a passion for jazz and related styles, such as funk, Latin, soul, fusion, and blues. Groover has several association combos, including the Groover Big Band and the fusion band Magatama. The Groover Big Band is the most successful band and rehearses weekly on Thursdays. And every year they go on tour and have many gigs. Magatama is Groover's newest association combos and this close-knit group rehearses a swinging, jazz, fusion repertoire every week. There are occasional auditions for which you can sign up, but these will be distributed through Groover's internal channels. So, join Groover to get involved.
In addition, Groover organises activities for internal members on a frequent basis with live jazz music while enjoying a drink. During the get-togethers, there is always the opportunity to jam together and broaden your knowledge in ensemble playing and jazz music.
