Admission requirements

The admission requirements for the programmes depend on the previous education you have completed and the bachelor’s degree programme you want to enrol in. The admission requirements are explained below, and you will find more information about the application procedure.

Admission requirements with a vwo-diploma

Do you have a Dutch vwo-diploma? Then you can register for the Nanobiology programme if your curriculum included biology, physics, chemistry and wiskunde B (maths). Would you like to know which studies you can do with your vwo-profile? Look at the table of admission requirements per vwo-profile below.

Numerus clausus

The Nanobiology programme has a numerus clausus of a 120 places for the academic year 2024-2025 and 150 places for the academic year 2025-2026. Admission to the programme will be offered based on the results of the Nanobiology Selection process. The timing of the selection process can be challenging, since it’s during the period when you may also be taking your final exams. The selection process consists of a questionnaire and an exam. This exam is not a pass/fail exam but is included with the questionnaire to create a ranking score. You will be provided study materials for the exam.

Do you have a different diploma?

Are you enrolling from a higher vocational education (hbo) or university (wo) from abroad, or do you have no diploma at all? Please find all of the admission requirements below.

You may miss certain subjects or knowledge. There are several institutions that provide courses that prepare for this. Click here for more information about deficiencies.
