Upcoming event: webinar about programmable structures

On April 8th, Prof. Dr. Jovana Jovanova will talk about the latest projects developed in the MS3 Group in a free webinar organized by the 8th Symposium on Solid Mechanics – Mecsol 2022. More information about the webinar’s topic and the registration can be found here.

Welcome Saurav Sharma!

The MS3 group welcomes Saurav Sharma, who will start his postdoctoral work in the topic of inverse design of smart metamaterials through machine learning.

Welcome Qianyi (Aaron) and Zhaorui!

The MS3 Group welcomes Qianyi (Aaron) and Zhaorui, who will start their PhD in collaboration with the Maritime and Transport Technology Department (M&TT) and Materials Science and Engineering Department (MSE), respectively. Aaron will work on Soft Robot Design with Programmable Smart Granular Materials and Zhaorui will investigate Additive Manufacturing of lattice Nitinol Structures with Tailorable Damping Properties.

We are happy to be part of the Magpie project!

The Magpie is a huge project focusing on the development of smart green ports. The project has a collaboration with several research institutes and companies from Europe. We will work on the design of autonomous transshipment equipment.

The MS3 Group Receives approvement for a new research project

We are happy to receive funding for the project: Bio Shark-Skin Inspired Lattice Structure for Drag Reduction from the Delft Bioengineering Institute. The project also involves the contribution of the Biomechanical Engineering-3mE and Sustainable Design Engineering-IO.
