Z.C. (Zachary) Rowland

Profile

I received my MEng in Aeronautics & Astronautics from the University of Southampton in 2018 (with a semester in ESTACA, France) and then worked for over five years in programme management, data analysis and tool development in support of industrial policy at the European Space Agency. Since October 2023, I have been a PhD candidate in the Department of Geoscience & Remote Sensing.

Research

My research focuses on investigating aerosol-cloud interactions to evaluate the cloud-microphysical feasibility of climate engineering by marine cloud brightening. I work with ground-based observations in combination with cloud parcel modelling. This research is conducted with the support of the Refreeze the Arctic Foundation (RAF) and in collaboration with the Centre for Climate Repair at the University of Cambridge.
