'After finishing my pre-university education, it didn’t take me long to make my choice: it was Mechanical Engineering. I had always been interested in mechanical engineering and this also proved something I was good in at secondary school.

I have now completed my first year and I can say that I haven’t regretted my choice. Mechanical engineering can be challenging, but it can be done without difficulty if you remain motivated. The projects in the first year are of great help. In the second half of the year, for example, we designed a walking beer crate and then went on to make it. These types of project help you to apply all the knowledge that you’ve gained and it’s just great to see that it really works!

I decided to get digs straight away due to the journey time to my parents’ place. In no time at all I felt right at home, quickly becoming part of student life. There are plenty of student clubs and sports facilities in Delft to have a great time! Of course you also need to study, but if you plan well you’ll have plenty of time to be involved in fun things besides studying.'
