Valery Kritchallo

PhD student at the Computer Engineering Group of the Faculty of Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (EEMCS/EWI), Delft University of Technology.

PhD thesis title: Application of Approximate Computing for Algorithm Parallelization.

Supervisors: Prof. Koen Bertels and Assoc. Prof. Zaid Al-Ars.

Participated in the ALMARVI project, with the research focus on scalable parallelization of computer vision algorithms, such as Canny edge, Gaussian blurring augmented with Discrete Cosine Transform, and blind deconvolution.

My research interests are:

  • scalable parallelization of real-world C/C++ applications
  • optimization of computer vision algorithms
  • application of approximate computing to trade off computational accuracy for performance
  • binary runtime instrumentation of software applications
