Welcome to the Savenije group

Our research focuses on the optical-electronic properties of novel inorganic and organic semiconductors including metal halide perovskites. We are interested to understand how the chemical structure and morphology of these materials affect the charge carrier dynamics. Using advanced time resolved techniques including the time-resolved microwave conductivity technique we monitor how excess charges are generated on pulsed excitation, how they move and ultimately decay. Knowledge on these issues yields the design rules for preparing new materials with improved properties. These materials find application in solar cells, LEDs photo electrochemical cells etc. We are based in the Chemical Engineering department of the Technical University Delft.
