Neelke Doorn appointed Director of Education

As per 1 September 2018, professor Neelke Doorn will succeed professor Ernst ten Heuvelhof as Director of Education. Neelke has worked in the VTI Ethics and Philosophy of Technology research group since 2007. She was appointed Antoni van Leeuwenhoek professor in Ethics of Water Engineering in 2017.

Neelke graduated as a civil engineer, philosopher and lawyer. In her research into the ethical aspects of water management, she combines the three disciplines of her previous studies in a unique way. Neelke has gained national and international recognition for her expertise in water engineering and ethics and in recent years has been awarded various grants and scholarships, including a Veni grant from The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) in 2013 and three NWO 'Socially Responsible Innovation' grants. Neelke is passionate about the educational programmes of TPM and is looking forward to actively contribute in the years to come. Dean and management team of the faculty wish Neelke great success in her new position and are very grateful to Ernst ten Heuvelhof for his significant contribution as director of education since 2011. At a later moment we will organise an appropriate farewell as director of education for Ernst.
