Dr.ir. F.J. (Freek) van Leijen

Profile

I am a researcher at the department of Geoscience and Remote Sensing. I have a background in Geodesy (MSc, 2002). In 2005, I received a Fulbright scholarship, which allowed me to visit the University of Miami, USA. From 2008 to 2012, I worked at SkyGeo, which provides commercial services based on radar interferometry. In 2014, I obtained my PhD degree with my thesis on Persistent Scatterer Interferometry based on geodetic estimation theory.

Research

My research focusses on the development of methodologies for the processing of radar interferometric time series, and on ground motion analysis. Hereby, especially the integration of different techniques, such as GNSS, levelling, InSAR and LiDAR, using geodetic estimation and quality control methods, plays an important role.
