Open Education Week
4-8 March 2024

Since 2012, Open Education Week has been an annual celebration of the people and activities that apply open practices to education around the world – with events, workshops and challenges held at schools, colleges, universities, libraries, and organisations.

TU Delft actively supports openness in education and has organised a program of activities. Contribute by taking part in these, by sharing your Open assets/ resources in the OE website (this automatically adds them to the OE Week Library), and by submitting photos for the competition – see below for information.

Programme

DAY 1 – Monday 4 March
Location and time: TU Delft Library, 12:30-17:30

Education: open & interactive!
To kick off the Open Education Week, join us for an enlightening experience at the Open Interactive Textbooks (OITs) Symposium. It is the perfect opportunity for educators with all levels of familiarity with open education materials to explore the world of OITs.
Wilma van Wezenbeek from Npuls opens the event with a captivating keynote, followed by a dynamic panel discussion, a range of talks, and diverse workshops. Join us to discover the latest advancements and to connect with the growing OIT community within TU Delft.

DAY 2 – Tuesday 5 March
Location and time: Teaching Lab, 12:00-17:00

Walk-in lunch & Welcome (12:00-12:35)

Open Education Ambassador Awards (12:35-12:50):
Each year, we celebrate eight TU Delft lecturers (one per faculty and including QuTech) for their advocacy of open education and commitment to openly share knowledge and educational resources with the world. They receive the award from Willem van Valkenburg, Executive Director TU Delft Extension School for Continuing Education. (See previous winners)

Open Education Stimulation Fund Symposium (13:00-16:05):
In 2023, the TU Delft Open Science programme funded 11 projects, led by the faculties’ teaching staff. They are all examples of Open Educational Resources and open teaching practices. The project leaders will share the outcomes of their projects to celebrate together their achievements and lessons learned. You can find a full list and description of all the projects here.

We look forward to seeing you on either day or both!
