AiBLE Lab launched

AiBLE Lab launched

The AiBLE Lab, a new Delft AI Lab working towards activating intelligence in building lasting and liveable environments has been officially launched. The lab will be led by Tong Wang (Faculty of ABE, Management in the Built Environment) and our own Luciano Siebert (Faculty of EEMCS, Interactive Intelligence group).

The audience of the annual workshop has a strong background of the different methods of computational intelligence. About half of the participants are computer scientist. The other half comes from engineering sciences focusing on control theory/automation control in process engineering, industrial automation, power systems, automotive engineering, robotics, and medical engineering.

Due to the loss of cognitive and behavioral abilities, people with dementia (PwD) become more dependent on their (in)formal carers and may stop engaging in meaningful activities. Carers often feel burdened when they cannot provide enduring support to engage the PwD in such activities. An adjustable combination of Social AI (SAI) technology could help to initiate, coordinate, guide, stimulate and personalize the activities of PwD.
