The Boukany and the Koenderink groups have been awarded an EMW-M-2 grant (700 kEuro)
Genome editing technologies such as CRISPR-Cas systems are revolutionizing the life sciences because they make it possible to change or repair the genomes of cells with high precision. However, a major challenge that hampers widespread application is that genome editing requires getting molecular tools (nucleic acids and enzymes) into the cell, across the its insulating membrane.

ECCM KICkstart DE-NL cross-border NWO grant for e-Refinery scientists
The NWO executive board has awarded thirteen applications in the ECCM KICkstart DE-NL Call. The research focuses, among other things, on bridging the gap between materials at the nanoscale and the large-scale production of these materials, so that the latest developments, for example for the development of electrolysers, can be applied more quickly.

Delft scientists put the spotlight on combined capture and conversion of CO2
CO2 can be electrochemically converted into valuable chemicals and fuels. Both capturing and converting CO2 do, however, require a lot of energy. An optimal combination of both processes can save a lot of energy and reduce the loss of materials. The TU Delft research group of David Vermaas recently published a paper in Nature Catalyses, summarising the various ideas on how to achieve this.

Artur Schweidtmann wins a grant from the NWO Open Science Fund with the ChemEng KG - The Chemical Engineering Knowledge Graph
Artur Schweidtmann (ChemE) has won a NWO Open Science Fund with his proposal for an open-source knowledge graph database for chemical engineering. His project is one of the 26 projects that were honoured by this call for the first time this year (and the only one from TU Delft). The "ChemEng KG" aims to accelerate process development in academia and industry.
