Using a question database driven quiz server to automate education
Often, students enter a TU-Delft master’s programme after completing a bachelor at another university (abroad). This variety in inflow leads to a diversity in the knowledge and skills; which requires homologation. This would be done most efficiently in a personalized approach – but logistically this seems impossible.
In this Meet & Eat, Chris Verhoeven and Anton Montagne will share how they make this feasible by developing content and software to automate this process for Electronics.
Through structuring their course in such a way that dependencies between the topics becomes more explicit; together with setting up a parameterized database with questions (tagged with, e.g., topic, Bloom level, and type) students are enabled to generate questions and take individualized quizzes to update their level of knowledge and skills at their own pace, without becoming lost or inefficient.

About Ir. Dr. C. J. M. (Chris) Verhoeven
Chris is an associate professor in the department of microelectronics at the Delft University of Technology. His interests are: systematic analog design, RF circuits, adaptive radio systems, sensor electronics and avionics for drones, sounding rockets and nano-satellites. In 2019 Chris Verhoeven was appointed as TU Delft Education Fellow on the 'Structured Electronic design for Engineers' project.
About Ir. A. J. M. (Anton) Montagne
Anton is guest lecturer ‘structured electronic design’ at the Delft University of Technology and instructor at the High Tech Institute. Next to this, he works as independent consultant, trainer and designer in the field of analog electronics. During the past 30 years he carried out many training courses on analog electronics in Europe.
