Honours Programme

The Honours Programme is a programme for excellent students who are looking for an extra challenge. Students get the opportunity to deepen and/or broaden themselves in a topic of their choice.

Honours Programma BSc

Inhoud

Het Honours Programma Bachelor bestaat uit – minimaal – 20 EC. Hiervan wordt 5 EC van het programma ingevuld met interfacultaire vakken. Voor de overige – minimaal – 15 EC schrijven studenten een programmavoorstel dat moet worden goedgekeurd door de directeur van het Honours Programma. Het Honours Programma Bachelor vindt tijdens het tweede en derde studiejaar plaats.

Aanmeldvoorwaarden

Studenten kunnen zich aanmelden als zij voldoen aan de volgende voorwaarden voor het Honours Programma Bachelor ME (OER – Artikel 10):

  • Het eerste bachelorjaar moet volledig, nominaal en met een voldoende behaald zijn voor 1 september. Als de student tijdens de aanmeldperiode nog wacht op uitslagen van herkansingen, dan is er in ieder geval de verwachting dat op de peildatum (1 september) alle vakken zijn gehaald;
  • Studenten moeten een gewogen gemiddelde van 8.0 of hoger hebben.

Aanmeldprocedure

Eerstejaarsstudenten kunnen zich aanmelden van 1 juli t/m 31 augustus als zij aan de aanmeldvoorwaarden voldoen. Deze aanmelding bestaat uit de volgende stappen:

  • Een cijferlijst, inclusief gewogen gemiddelde (op te vragen bij SPA-ME@tudelft.nl), curriculum vitae en een motivatiebrief dienen als losse PDF-bestanden verstuurd te worden naar honourscommittee-ME@tudelft.nl;
  • Op basis van het totaalpakket (aanmeldvoorwaarden, CV en motivatiebrief) beslist de honourscommissie-ME of je toelaatbaar bent tot het Honours Programma Bachelor - let op: voldoen aan de aanmeldvoorwaarden biedt geen garantie tot toelating; 
  • Toetsing van de aanmeldvoorwaarden wordt gedaan op basis van de vastgestelde cijfers in Osiris met als peildatum 1 september;
  • Begin september ontvang je bericht vanuit de honourscommissie-ME of je bent toegelaten tot het Honours Programma Bachelor;
  • Eind september vindt een interfacultaire en facultaire kick-off van het Honours Programma Bachelor.

Afrondingseisen

Voor de succesvolle afronding van het Honours Programma Bachelor ME dient een student in ieder geval aan onderstaande eisen te voldoen:

  • De student moet actief deelnemen en aanwezig zijn bij alle verplichte HPB bijeenkomsten, inclusief het eindsymposium eind juni; 
  • Alle onderdelen van zowel de reguliere bacheloropleiding als het Honours Programma Bachelor ME moeten nominaal – dus binnen 3 jaar – met een voldoende resultaat afgerond zijn om het Honours Certificaat te behalen.

Honours Programme MSc

Content 

The Honours Programme Master consists of – at least – 20 EC. 5 EC of the programme will be completed with a compulsory interfaculty courses. For the remaining 15 EC, students will have to write a proposal that has to be approved by the director of the Honours Programme.

Registration requirements

Students can register for the Honours Programme Master ME (TER - article 10) if they meet the following registration requirements:

  1. Students need to have obtained at least 25 EC of the first semester, including all required courses from their exam programme (according to their approved Form 2);
  2. Students need to have obtained a weighted average of 8.0 or higher.

Registration procedure

First-year Master students can register from 15 December until 15 February if they meet the registration requirements. Registration consists of the following elements:

  • A grade list, including the weighted average (to be request via SPA-ME@tudelft.nl), approved MSc Individual Study Programme (Form 2), curriculum vitae (CV), and motivation letter - to be send as separate PDF-files to honourscomittee-ME@tudelft.nl;
  • The honours committee ME decides whether students are admissible to the Honours Programme Master ME based on the total package (registration requirements, CV, and motivation letter) - please note: meeting the registration requirements does not garantee admission to the Honours Programme Master;
  • Review of the registration requirements is done based on the established grades in Osiris on the reference date, 15 February 2024;
  • Within a week after the registration deadline, the honours committee ME will inform you with their decision regarding your registration for the Honours Programme Master ME;
  • On 28 February 2024, from 17:00 - 18:30 hrs, a mandatory faculty kick-off will take place for the Honours Programme Master ME.

Exit requirements

For the successful completion of the Honours Programme Master ME, the student must at least meet the following requirements: 

  • The student must actively participate and be present at all obligatory HPM meetings, including the final symposium at the end of June;
  • All components of both the regular Master's programme and the Honours Programme Master must be completed with a sufficient result in nominal terms – i.e., within 2 years – in order to obtain the Honours Certificate Masters.

Next Generation Robotics

Our faculty is the formal host of the one of the interfaculty specializations of the official TU Delft Honours programme Bachelor (HPB): the Next Generation Robotics (NGR) Honours Class based within the Robotics community of TU Delft, united in the Robotics Institute.

The NGR Honours Class offers you a valuable interdisciplinary robotics research and development experience within the framework of the HPB, giving you the opportunity to become part of the core of the robotics ecosystem in and around Delft.
