In 2016, the University signed a contract with Eneco for the supply of wind energy from the Luchterduinen offshore wind farm. This contract applies to all electricity purchased from 1 January 2017, reducing CO2 emissions from the campus energy supply by almost 60% and primary energy consumption by about 40%.
