Education

It is of great importance to properly educate future generations. Within the faculty of Technology, Policy and Management of TU Delft, the Centre actively contributes to healthcare and safety-related education.

Clinical Technology

In the academic year 2022-2023, a new learning line Skills & Safety was launched for the Bachelor's program in Clinical Technology. Our center is responsible for the Safety part.

Health Systems

Health Systems  is a new Master elective on modelling of health systems and healthcare in a collaborative effort within TPM. Our Centre participates in the part of the education on organization of health systems and system interactions affecting safety.

Ethics & Safety

The course Ethics & Safety (in Dutch: Ethiek & Veiligheid) is taught to students from the second year of Technische Bestuurskunde. The goal of this course is to give an introduction in the basic concepts and methods of philosophical science, ethics, and safety science. Students learn to connect these research domains during several lectures and group- as well as individual assignments. They are challenged to create their own pilot-study, where they write their own research question, as well as their methods, results, and a critical and ethical reflection of their work.

Health System Management

The course Health System Management is part of the Bachelor minor ‘MedTech Entrepreneurship’ and is about the organization of health and healthcare systems, in relation to opportunities for entrepreneurship. Safety is an integral part of the course out of the principle of ‘safe by design’ and responsible innovation.

Management of Safety, Health & Environment (MoSHE)

MoSHE is the post-initial education that is taught by the section of Safety Science of TU Delft for over thirty years to Dutch safety professionals. The nine-week course offers a broad view on safety management topics, with an eye for policy and strategy, risk management, risk analysis, safety leadership, culture and behaviour, health and wellbeing, environment and effort evaluation. The staff of the Centre for Safety in Healthcare cares for the coordination of this education and adds an important contribution to the course program.
