Sillje: APPLIED BOTANY WOVEN TOGETHER

The concept “weave” explained
Gerrit van Iterson was a professor who did research on microscopical anatomy in 1907. He worked on the development of rubber and fibres with technical applications. He called this study ‘Applied Botany’.
The design focuses on these plants, for which research has been done on their qualities. Most of them are used for some kind of textile. In the design of the exhibition, the information about the different plants and textiles comes together in such a way that they literally weave together.
