Benjamin Mockenhaupt

I studied chemical engineering at the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen and passed it with the degree of Master of science in 2018. Afterwards I started my PhD thesis in the group of Prof. Behrens at the University of Essen, where I worked on methanol synthesis catalysts from preparation to catalysis.

In October 2021 I shifted to the Christian-Albrecht University of Kiel where I assisted prof. Behrens in establishing the research group, especially the catalysis laboratories and introduction of the new colleagues to the catalyst testing plants.

I will start my new position in catalyst synthesis and development for the carbon dioxide hydrogenation to methanol. Therefore, high pressure application and operando spectroscopic methods are selected to characterize the catalyst.
