Fumihiko Kosaka

Fumihiko Kosaka obtained his master’s degree in 2012 and PhD in 2015 from The University of Tokyo, Japan. During his PhD studies, he focused on the development of oxygen carrier particles for chemical looping systems. Following this, he worked in The University Tokyo as a project assistant professor, where he conducted research on electrochemical synthesis of ammonia. Subsequently, in 2018, he joined National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), Tsukuba, Japan. At AIST, his research has focused on the catalysis of CO₂ reduction into CH₄, CO, Methanol, and hydrocarbons, with a particular emphasis on the integrated CO₂ capture and reduction process, as well as the application of machine learning in heterogeneous catalysis. In March 2024, he joined our group as a guest researcher.
