I did my masters and PhD studies at Utrecht University in the field of material science. I mostly focused on the synthesis and characterization of (nano-)colloidal crystals and their self-assembly into lattices.

After discovering several interesting new (super-)lattices, I moved as a post-doc to Delft to work in the Chemical Engineering and Physics Departments. There I studied the optical and electronic properties of the lattices using time-resolved non-contact methods (Transient Optical Absorbance, Time-Resolved THz Spectroscopy), as well as methods including electrode contacts, such as transistor device characterization and electrochemistry.

Since 2015 I am responsible for the TEM of the Chemical Engineering Department and in 2017 I joined the Cryo-EM group to help set up the microscopes.

I am also involved in the maintenance and development of ultrafast laser-spectroscopy setups.
