Jyotsna Singh

PhD student

Jyotsna Singh is a PhD researcher at the SUM Lab funded by the Horizon Europe Project – Seamless Shared Urban Mobility. The PhD title is Integrated Transport Networks and is a part of XCARCITY project. In the PhD project, she is working on developing an integrated transport network which links future low car areas with the existing transport infrastructure.

Jyotsna obtained her MSc. in Transport Infrastructure and Logistics from TU Delft. Her PhD majorly revolves around developing a multimodal multi-objective optimisation model which would provide optimal solutions that would link low car areas with existing transport networks. Another aspect of the project is to use impact assessment models to understand the impacts of low car/car free area/cities. A literature review will be carried out focusing on different meta-heuristic that are used in the Network Design Problem (NDP), methods to reduce the solution space and methods to include uncertainties regarding future developments.

Here research interests include operations research, transport modelling, choice modelling, impact assessments with a focus on the practical applications of these methods in the field of transport and logistics. Specific research interests include:

  1. Multimodal Multi-objective optimisation
  2. Genetic Algorithms
  3. Assignment Models in Transport
  4. Impact Assessment Modelling
  5. Stated Choice Experiments
  6. Choice Modelling
