Mesut Can Köseoğlu

Mesut Can Köseoğlumajored in Maritime Transportation and Management Engineering (B.Sc., Piri Reis University, 2016) and obtained two M.Sc. degrees in Maritime Transportation Engineeringwith thesis on Evaluation of Cognitive Performance of Seafarers in Heavy Weather Conditions Using Cognitive Test Software Applicationsupervised by Prof. Dr. Leyla Tavacıoğlu(Istanbul Technical University, 2019) and Industrial Engineeringwith thesis onGreen Liner Ship Routing and Scheduling Optimization with Time Windows Under Added Resistance Effects of Several Weather Conditionssupervised byProf. Dr. Temel Öncan(Galatasaray University, 2022). Afterwards, he completed the necessary PhD courses in Industrial Engineering at Galatasaray University (2023). He has worked as a Research Assistant at the Piri Reis University Maritime Faculty for more than 6 years (2017-2023). Within off-campus duties, he also served as the Academic Assistant to the Coordinator and as a Lecturer at the Qatar Mohammed Bin Ghanim Al-Ghanim Naval Academy for Piri Reis University for two semesters in 2022. In line with his research fields on the greening of maritime transportation, he worked at IO’s shipbrokers as a decarbonization specialist for 5 months in 2023-2024.

Currently, he is pursuing his PhD in MADIS at Centrale Lilleand working as a doctoral researcher at the Centre Inria de l'Université de Lille for the HEU-SUM project in the INOCS team. He is also collaborating with TU Delft's SUM-Lab. His current research fields include Mobility as a Service (MaaS), shared urban mobility, pricing models, bi-level programming with user behavioural modelling, and incentive designs. His secondary research fields are maritime routing optimization, machine learning applications, and sustainable operational management in maritime transportation, including green ports, smart shipping, and supply chain applications.
